Kids age 17 and under are invited to learn to fish at Shevlin Park Pond in Bend on June 20 from 9 a.m. to noon.

ODFW staff and volunteers will be on hand to help young anglers learn how to fish. Loaner rods, reels and tackle will be available. Younger children who attend the event need to be accompanied by an adult.

Kids age 11 and under can fish for free.  Older kids (age 12-17) need a Youth License (includes fishing, hunting, shellfish and Columbia River Basin Endorsement) which costs $10.  Licenses will not be available for sale at the event so buy in advance online.

Note that fishing at Shevlin Pond is limited to youth anglers (age 17 and under) and disabled anglers per Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations

ODFW and partners host a variety of events around the state each year teaching people of all ages how to hunt, crab and clam.  Find other events at the Workshops and Events page.
