Even though the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission (OFWC) meeting to finalize the halibut seasons has been delayed until May 10, the sport halibut openings scheduled prior to that date will occur. ODFW put temporary rules in place so that the sport halibut fisheries could start as recommended by staff. We will send out an update if the OFWC makes any changes to the staff recommened seasons.
