The area around the fish hatchery is fishing better than most other areas due to the regular hatchery plants. The weekly stocking has included a fair number of larger fish as well as the 700 or so legals. Caddis hatches and some mayfly and midge activity are the primary surface draw here with evenings occasionally being exceptional for both the wild and stocked fish. Small nymphs and big streamers have been best when fishing sub surface.

Nothing new here. The Crooked continues to be stable at around 230cfs, and the fishing has actually been decent lately. The evening caddis hatch is fairly predictable, and besides, fishing a dry reduces the by catch of non target species (Whitefish).
