The Crooked water levels are up to 247 CFS below the dam. Hopefully this will be the last major water level shift. Fishing is great. The blue winged olive and midge hatches are still fairly consistent. With warmer days expect more pale morning duns and caddis. Pupa will get to be more and more effective as we move through spring. When water rises larger bugs are swept away off of the bottom, don’t hesitate to use slightly bigger nymphs than usual. BWO, PMD and midge patterns are great, as are scuds. Springtime on the crooked is awesome. There are tons of hungry redsides out there and the canyon is still relatively cool compared to summer time.
