Summer Short-Wing Stones and Hoppers are here to tempt big noses into September.?? Over the day's course, however, alternative events can and will materialize to temporarily steal the show.?? PMD's, a #10-#12 light-bodied may (Epeorus?), Yellow Sallies, and Caddis in the evening will all make varying appearances day-in, day-out.?? Look for the mayflies from late morning into mid-afternoon (cloudy, humid conditions tend to welcome a prolonged mayfly emergence), Yellow Sallies through-out the afternoon (be on the look-out for ovipositors in particular), and Caddis in the evening.?? Drop a representative nymph or pupa off the big dries during light appearances/events, and be ready to wholesale-switch to a matching emerger/dry should the event build in intensity on that day.??
