The Wilson River is rising quickly this afternoon and is predicted to peak early Friday morning. It may fish this weekend but will be on the high side. Whenever if does come into shape there should be steelhead throughout the fishery. A few brave souls caught some fish towards the end of the freezing weather.‌

The Wilson gets the North Coast's largest release of hatchery winter steelhead and those fish are starting to show up with a few getting caught. Hatchery winter steelhead on the Wilson are from wild broodstock and as such the run peaks January through March.
