The reach below the falls continues to produce a few really nice Browns and Rainbows mixed in with all the little guys, and the Hatchery stretch has been a consistent producer as well. An Adams in smaller sizes does a great job of imitating both the omnipresent mosquitoes as well as the variety of mayflies this river produces. Caddis and PMD hatches have been the primary surface draw here with evenings occasionally being exceptional for the smaller Bows. Small nymphs and big streamers have been best when fishing sub-surface.

The caddis have taken over the show. We are still seeing mayflies on the days with higher humidity, but caddis are the main entr??e for the time being. The cooler weather has slows the hatch a bit, but there are still enough caddis to keep the trout looking up. . The Metolius is seeing summer levels of angler traffic, and as usual a few anglers are accounting for most of the fish caught here. Golden Stones, PMD's and plenty of caddis and little yellow stones are making daily appearances. It's all about being in the right place at the right time.
