The Crooked is another excellent choice in Fall/Winter.?? I have been getting consistently good reports from the Crooked.?? The trout being caught are mainly 8-12" wild rainbows, and occasionally fish over 15 inches. ?? Of course there are plenty of whities. This river is a good choice in Fall/Winter because snow rarely sticks around in this desert canyon and the sun is out more often than not.??

The canyon is beautiful and the scenery alone is worth the trip out there.?? Now that the weather is cooler, the Crooked can fish well all day long.?? When dryfly fishing, concentrate on the riffles.?? When nymph fishing, concentrate on the deeper holes.?? Flows are at normal winter levels ~ 30-100 CFS.

DRIES: Adams, Purple comparadun, caddis, BWOs NYMPHS: Scuds, midges, caddis, brassie, prince.
