Plat I was stocked with 1,000 legal size trout in the first week of March. In addition to trout fishing, the lake also has good bass fishing.

Bank fishing access is available, though the lake is now drawn down and access for fishing may be very muddy.

Anglers may have success catching trout and bass with bait such as PowerBait and nightcrawlers where access is available. The reservoir should receive its first 2016 trout stocking by late February/early March. The lake will be stocked the week of March 14 with an additional 1,000 legals.

Some of the trout have had copepods which are tiny parasites on their bodies and gills. These are not harmful to humans, but the lesions can be removed and the meat should be thoroughly cooked.
