Anglers are reminded that the Applegate closes to fishing for steelhead and trout beginning April 1st. In addition, citations have been issued recently to anglers fishing above the deadline near the dam. Fishing should be good for the last days of March, with the release from the reservoir is dropping to 500 cfs by Wednesday, March 30th. The river will reopen for trout fishing on May 22. The Applegate is open to harvest of hatchery steelhead. Wild steelhead must be released unharmed.
