Steelhead fishing was slow on the Kilchis last weekend, mostly due to low and clear conditions. A little rain is predicted for Wednesday through Friday this week. The Kilchis probably won’t come up very much, but hopefully the rain will add a little color and get some fish moving.

Dark colors, small presentations, light line, and stealthy tactics will probably produce the best results on this river. There are no hatchery releases in the Kilchis so this is mostly a catch-and-release fishery, although the odd hatchery stray does get caught. There should be fish throughout the system.
