The water elevation in the reservoir is increasing slowly. Thistle Creek boat ramp is available now for anglers to launch boats. Whitcomb boat ramp should be available by early April. Best bet for anglers without a boat is to drive to the top of the reservoir where Quartzville Creek enters the reservoir. Large trout will sometimes forage where the river brings in food swept down from upstream. Check the US Army Corps of Engineer’s website for more information.

Trout as well as bass are good options for anglers this time of year. Look for them near ledges and drop-offs as well as near underwater structure. Kokanee fishing is a bit slow at the moment but should pick up once water temperatures get into the 50s.
