It's Steelhead Week, and finding the perfect water exactly when the steelhead are running is both the joy and pain of winter steelhead fishing. We are at the whims of Mother Nature. This week we're starting with as close to perfect conditions as you can get and moving into the realm of what to do when conditions aren't great on your favorite steelhead waters. When the mid-coast's Siletz River dropped into shape in spite of some rain, snow and hail, we jumped in a boat and floated from Moonshine to Twin Bridges with ODFW's mid-coast district fish biologist John Spangler and assistant district fish biologist Paul Olmsted at the oars.
