Lake Of The Woods Fish Report for 9-9-2021
This is a good time to chase largemouth bass in the lake
Lake Of The Woods - Klamath Falls, OR (Klamath County)
by OR Department of Fish & Wildlife Staff
Fishing will be slow for trout as most stocked rainbow trout will move to deeper water. You’ll need to get your lures down to about 15 feet with lead core line or downriggers. Much of the Fourmile Lake allotment of hatchery fish will be stocked here. Lake of the Woods was heavily stocked with trophy (18 inches) and legal rainbow trout (10 inches) this year. Best fishing is from a boat. Open all year.
Fishing will be getting good for many of the warmwater species in the lake. This is a good time to chase largemouth bass in the lake. Smallmouth bass are more common west of the Lodge near the rocky areas of the lake. Fishing for yellow perch will be your best bet. The lake is dominated by stunted yellow perch. Very small bait and hooks will catch these fish. Even a few crappie are showing up in the catch.
You can also visit their website to observe current conditions at the lake. Click on the left side video link for a live video of current conditions on the lake at the Lodge.
