Friday Fishing Report

Three of our four boats out this morning had terrific trips and were home an hour early with limit catches. No official information on the crabbing but it has been so good lately I think it would be safe to assume that it was really good also.
The catching seems to be slowing down as these salmon in our area seem to be moving north to get ready to run the rivers up north. One of our vessels brought home six really healthy looking salmon for some lucky customers. There are still reports of fish moving up thru our area from the south so the salmon catch might improve quite a bit if you’re here on the right day. Remember the season is open daily till September 30th.

The salmon fishing was just ok this morning but we have no exact totals for you. We did hear over the radio what they were fighting were the huge jellyfish out there and lots of mackerel biting hooks. Not a lot of take home fish caught but lots of action and we heard quite a few fish lost reeling them into the boat. Tradewinds Charters Fishing Update
Salmon The reports that we heard was that salmon fishing was quite slow this morning with not that many fish caught. The action was also slow with the ocean seemingly a little dead this morning with not many birds working the water or anything. Its only the first day of the September fishery and we did hear that boats off of Waldport had good action down there. Those fish will be moving thru our area here pretty soon.
