APPLEGATE RIVER below Applegate Dam:

The Applegate River is open to trout and steelhead fishing through March 31. Only adipose fin-clipped rainbow trout or steelhead may be harvested. All wild cutthroat and rainbow trout, and steelhead must be released unharmed. The first reports of winter steelhead in the Grants Pass area means there should be some moving into the lower Applegate.

New Rogue South Coast Steelhead Validation is required to fish for steelhead. Harvest of wild steelhead is not allowed in the Applegate River.

River was steelhead green last weekend and saw very little pressure. You can check the USGS stream gauge flows on the Applegate to get the most up to date flow and temperature information
