The release from Lost Creek Reservoir is in the 950 cfs vicinity, but tributaries are providing significant input downstream. Dodge Bridge is around 3,400 cfs. Water is high and brown from Casey Park to Gold Beach. Pulling plugs or plunking is the best bet until clarity improves..

Reports of the first springer caught in the upper river came in over the weekend. Make sure to check the Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations for harvest restrictions in each section of river before you head out.

Trout season is closed but will re-open on May 22. The “Hatchery Hole” is also closed to all angling until July 31 and closed to Chinook fishing all year.

Last week 69 new winter steelhead showed up to the hatchery, and the swim-in season total is 373.

Wild winter steelhead over 24 inches may be harvested upstream of Hog Creek boat ramp Feb. 1-April 30 (1 per day, 3 per season). Please check out MyODFW for info on new validation and harvest tag requirements in the Rogue and South Coast Rivers.

Please avoid wading in and fishing near salmon redds.

For up-to-date river levels, check all the USGS Rogue gauges here.
