There have not been any recent fishing reports, but the river went from 25cfs to 130cfs overnight recently due to rainstorms. The water will be more turbid due to fires and it is unclear if this will persist into the weekend.‌

Fly-fishing with beadheads is probably your best bet throughout the day with dry fly action in the mornings and evenings. Casting small lures across current can also catch redband trout if fished correctly. This is a great time to camp along the Chewaucan -- just make sure to bring your bug dope. ‌

With the water warming up this summer please land fish quickly, keep the fish in the water and do the best you can to release happy fish so we can enjoy them in the future.‌

Check the Oregon Water Resources Near Real Time Streamflow website for current flow information.
