KILCHIS RIVER: Winter steelhead
Attention, boating hazard on the Kilchis River: There is a large tree down against the Mapes Creek bridge (logging bridge) and it is not passable to boats at this time. Use extreme caution in this area.
The Kilchis just dropped back into shape and is looking very fishy as of this writing. It will continue to drop through the week but should still be fishable by the weekend. There are steelhead throughout the fishery, and fishing should be good.. There are no hatchery releases on the Kilchis, so this is mostly a catch and release fishery for wild steelhead.
