The mainstem is closed to all harvest of wild spring Chinook including jacks. Hatchery fish are still able to be retained and there should be a decent run again this year. Chinook Angling is likely ending for the season but remains open until July 1 when it transitions to fall Chinook regulations. Bass fishing is good. A few good reports of some large strippers have been reported. Shad are available in the lower sections and good numbers are being caught. Been getting good reports from pink-fin perch anglers below marker 12.

The ODFW Commission will adopt inland fall salmon seasons at their meeting next week. The current proposal can be found on ODFW's webpage. The current proposal for fall Chinook is one wild adult per day and 5 per season in aggregate between the mainstem Umpqua, Smith, and North Fork Smith rivers. The is no proposed for wild coho in these areas.
