According to Martin, the Chetco estuary is fishing above average for early September, with most boats getting fish daily, and some catching limits. “There is a mix of wild and hatchery kings, plus plenty of jacks. The river is open to trolling along the jetties, and bobber fishing upriver. It’s still too early for tidewater bobber fishing, with most of the salmon holding right at the mouth. 

The Rogue Bay has slowed, but is still producing adult kings, jacks and hatchery coho. Fishing has been good upriver near Agness.”
