The Salmonfly hatch is just about done but there are still a few Goldens up around Warm Springs even now. You will still be able to find a few fish willing to eat the big bug, but caddis and mayflies are taking over the show. The strong PMD and PED hatches continue, Green Drakes are emerging on occasion, and the fish are on these insects as soon as they start to hatch in any numbers, usually mid-morning and evening. Caddis are the big draw both early and late in the day. In the morning nymphing continues to be productive with the hot flies being emergent sparkle pupae, soft hackles, and small mayfly nymphs in dark colors. Stop by the Warm Springs shop to see some of our personal favorites. The Little Yellow Stones and Craneflies are around most days to round out the parade of floating trout food. Water temps are around 52-57 degrees near Warm Springs and the river remains just under 4000 CFS out of the dam..
