Winter steelhead fishing has slowed down with the low and clear water conditions but there are still plenty of fish around. The low water is making things tougher along the NF Alsea but the conditions in the mainstem remain good for the drift boaters. Trap counts at Alsea hatchery remain high and should increase with the next rain event. The best bank fishing is on the popular NF Alsea section is between the town of Alsea and the hatchery.

Trout fishing in streams will reopen May 22, 2022.
