No recent fishing reports. River levels best for fishing are at or below 3,000 cfs, and the river is currently running around 2,900 cfs at the gauge in Mehama.

There are very few fish available for harvest this time of year. The spring Chinook and summer steelhead run are the next big opportunities for anglers and will start to show up in appreciable numbers by mid-May. About 200 summer steelhead and about 1,000 Chinook have already navigated the fish ladder at Willamette Falls. These numbers are likely to change dramatically over the next few weeks.

Fishing for hatchery steelhead is open year-round.. Any unclipped (wild) steelhead or trout that are caught must be released unharmed.
