Howard Prairie is 34 percent full. Access for trailered boats remains questionable. Jackson County Parks has decided not to open the rock road near the marina. The gravel road at the dam may be too muddy for launching. ‌

Trout fishing should be good. Anglers fishing PowerBait from shore near the dam caught several trout recently. Howard will be stocked with 5 to 6-inch fingerling rainbow trout this week, so anglers are encouraged to use caution and carefully release these undersized fish.
