Owyhee Reservoir is 60% full, all boat ramps are open with the exception of the county ramp near the dam. Bass fishing has been good so far this year with lots of healthy 2 pound largemouth and smallmouth being caught. We expect bass fishing to improve as brood year 2023 bass continue to grow.

Black Crappie are abundant right now but most are quite small. Crappie can be found throughout the reservoir.

Channel catfish are abundant in the reservoir, the best places to target catfish are relatively shallow flats throughout the reservoir. The best catfishing can be found in the Leslie Gulch area.

Fishing for warmwater fish such as bass, crappie and catfish typically slows down in the winter. Trout can be caught in the reservoir this time of year by trolling in the lower reservoir.
