The Nehalem mainstem is a mostly wild steelhead river without any hatchery releases, but there is plenty of catch-and-release opportunity for wild steelhead. The lower reach, from Foss down, is still high and off color. The reaches above that should be fishable this week, however, if still a little on the high side. Large bright presentations fished in the softer water and tail outs should be effective in these conditions.
